Leprechauns in February!

I adore working in a year round school, but one of the disadvantages is being out for fun holidays . . . like St. Patrick's Day in March!

We get out of school next Friday so I went ahead and got my Math Stations & Journals Prompts for March ready so that my kiddos can enjoy them.

I can now say that these centers have been kid tested, and teacher approved. :)

There are 7 different centers in this set, but hands down my kiddos have enjoyed the Grab 4 O'Malley's Addition center the best. (I think that they just like my cute little bucket!)

Another favorite was the Paddy's Place Value Cover Up. The kids kept saying "Let's go to BINGO next!" I didn't bother correcting them, why let them know they are actually learning and not just playing a fun game?

They also enjoyed skip-counting by 5's & 10's within 1000 at Shamrock Skip Counting. It was fun to see how EASY it was for them. My little green beans have grown SO much this year!

My Math Stations & Journal Prompts for March are on sale this week as part of the TPT 3 Million Strong Sale. All of the other products in my store are on sale as well. Be sure to enter the code TPT3 to save an additional percentage off, with a total possible savings of 28%. :)

Ready, Set, Save!

Alright ladies and gents! It's time to grease up those squeaky, old wheels on your shopping carts. TPT is celebrating being 3 Million Teachers Strong!

I know I'm not alone in saying that TPT has certainly made ME stronger! My little shining stars benefit from TPT every. single. day.

My favorite product right now is my Hundreds Chart's Mega Pack. I just did a little remodel. There are hundreds charts ranging from 0 - 1000 in three sizes. This set is SO versatile!

My kids LOVE my Math Around the Room Bundle. They get excited when they arrive and I am taping little cards all over the room. Kids and movement = fun. This is a growing bundle so now would be a great time to lock in the price.

The best value in my store right now is my Spin & Graph Holiday Bundle. Currently there are 8 Holidays in the set but I plan on adding at least 20 more.

Last, but most definitely not least, the bestseller in my store has ALWAYS been my Math Story Problems for Second Graders. You can never have enough practice story problems.

Happy Savings, and don't forget to use the promo code at checkout tomorrow and Friday!!!! :)

This post is linked up, along with MANY other stores, over at Blog Hoppin'. Click here or on the image below to add more amazing items to your shopping cart.

DIY: Desktop Organizer

If you are anything like me you save TONS of files, pictures, & programs on your desktop so that you can have instant access. This is especially true while I am working on new products.

The downsides of saving everything on your desktop are that it takes FOR-E-VER for your computer to boot up AND it does not look pretty.

So was inspired by Kristin at A Teeny Tiny Teacher, to make my own desktop organization. She had her own inspiration from here, and here.

Here is what I came up with:

Kristin provided instructions using a Mac, but I have a PC so I am going to share my process with you.

I used PowerPoint to design my organizer because that is the program I am most familiar with.

To get started I chose one of my favorite frame sets that I haven't been able to find a use for. I like the contrast the of the folders with the chalkboard. I played around with the different shapes and headings until I was happy with my layout.

Then, I added background paper. There is probably a more intelligent way to do this, but I just inserted my picture and I dragged the image by the right bottom corner until it filled the entire slide.
Then, I saved my image as a PDP  to a folder I created.

Next, I opened the folder and right clicked on the image to "Set as Desktop Background"

After this my background looked a bit wonky so, I right clicked on my desktop screen and chose Personalize, Desktop Background, and chose the Picture Position "Fit."

After I did ALL of this I realized that the slide dimensions were a little off so I changed the slide dimensions about three times (and resized my images in PowerPoint) before I was totally happy.

Here are the dimensions I ended up with, I have this computer.

All in all it took me about 20 minutes and I am SO pleased with how it turned out. The last step was just to drag everything into its place!

The frames I used are from Paula Kim Studio. The digital paper is from Sugar Studios.

If you do not want to make your own there are free templates here, here, and here. :)
