Five for Fruesday: Natalie Grant, Wrestling, & SALE!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

This is a picture of the SWEETEST group of third grade boys EVER!

I have a HUGE selection of math games, but they ALWAYS want to put together these time puzzles during Game rotation.

On this day, they asked me to take a picture of them. Tho' thweet!

This past Saturday my sis-in-law and I went to see one of our FAVORITE Christian singers  . . . ok, for real, she is my actual favorite of all time . . . Natalie Grant!!!!

She was absolutely amazing and we left feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world and shine bright!

That feeling when your kids have earned free time, and all they want to do is teach math to stuffed animals. . . . right after this Piggy was assigned an "F".  :/

And, I've been making it through January one strawberry daiquiri at a time.

How can one of the most BORING months of the year also be one of the most STRESSFUL?

You may notice that I was watching wrestling . . . this is a judgement free zone right?

And lastly, but certainly not leastly, there is a SALE going on over at Teachers Pay Teachers.

DO NOT FORGET to enter the code in before you checkout!!! I do it EVERY time!!!!!!

If you're looking for some suggestions, here a few favorites from my store:

Distributive Doctors, Home Sweet Goodbye

This week in third grade was all about the distributive property.

Maybe its just me . . . but I don't find learning about properties all that exciting so I was THRILLED when I discovered this cute Distributive Doctor set.

I added some surgical masks and gloves and . . . WA-LA . . . they were eating out of the palm of my hands.

Some of the questions they are asked on assessments using the distributive property are redunculous - we need all the help we can get.

On a personal note, this week was bittersweet after I put my first house on the market and received an offer within 30 HOURS!!

Here I am four years ago, achieving my life long dream of home ownership. SOOOO exciting!!!!

I LOVE my new place AND whom I share it with, but I can't help feeling sentimental about a time where it was just me and the cat, making it on our own.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Singing Crabs & Skip Counting Trains

We're starting off the year with multiplication. My kiddos had a bad case of cabin fever so I decided we should do some activities that got us up and moving.

We haven't seen each other for 25 DAYS!!! due to winter break followed by an ice storm!!! Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled to see their little faces again on Thursday!

First we built skip counting trains. I assigned them a number of cubes to construct each section of the train with.

Then I had them skip count to find how many cubes they had in their trains in all . . . I saw some great strategies in action!

We also played Roll & Color: Multiply by 3 (FREEBIE!) and Roll & Color: Multiply by 6. (No kid photos, I was too busy playing!)

We rounded out each day with a skip counting video.
We've watched (and memorized) almost ALL of the skip counting videos on YouTube from Have Fun Teaching

Our favorite is the 9's!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a random bird and a singing crab - what more could you ask for? These are SO catchy!

Happy Saturday everyone! I'm going to round out my week by playing a few rounds of Candy Crush, followed by a shopping spree at Target. (I'm buying a new broom, woo-hoo!)
