April Fool's Day Fun!

Try not to judge me, but I LOVE tricking my kids on April Fool's Day.

Bright an early Tuesday morning I will be giving my kiddos this special word search. NONE of the words in the word bank are actually in the word search. (bwahaha!)

I will also be bringing back the Lirpaloof Bird this year. Read all about this elusive creature here at Sunny Day's in Second Grade.

AND, the Brown E's may make an appearance . . .

Second Grade Product Swap: Shopping at the School Store!

Welcome to the second grade product swap and blog hop!  EIGHTEEN wonderful second grade bloggers have joined together to swap and review each other's products.  Best of all, we are giving away all of the products to one lucky winner!

This is the beginning of the hop! Be sure to click the "Next Stop" button at the bottom of this post to keep hopping! As you check out all the fabulous products, make sure to follow each blog on Bloglovin' as well.  There will be a Rafflecopter at the last stop.  This is where you can enter to win all of the products being reviewed!

I was lucky enough to swap products with Jean over at Diving into 2nd Grade. I chose her Shopping at the School Store set with my kiddos in mind. They LOVE pretending to shop in magazines or catalogs so I knew they would enjoy this set.

This product is very versatile and included SEVERAL different sets of directions that can be used with the same set of school supplies. I chose the directions that had my kiddos adding two of the products together.

The above picture shows one of the direction pages with some of the two-digit school supply cards.

Something I really like about all of the school supply cards is they are pretty closely reflective of how much things cost in the real world. No scissors for 2¢ with this center, people!

There are also several recording sheets included. They are great, but copies are like gold at my school so I decided that my kiddos could use their math journals to record their answers.

Along with 2-digit school supply cards, there were also cards with 3-digits. I tossed these into a Challenge Can. I know my kiddos can add 3-digit numbers, but I felt like it would be a boost of confidence for them to be able to add all of the Challenge Can numbers. :)

There was VERY little prep involved in putting all of this together. I extended the time a little bit wrapping that can in duct tape, but other than that it took me 3 minutes tops to print and cut out the cards. I tossed everything into a gallon bag (can included) and placed the bag in one of my math station tubs. Easy Peasy.

You can find this product over at Diving into 2nd Grade on Teachers Pay Teachers.

Click the button below to head over to the Diving into 2nd Grade blog and see what Jean had to say about my Math Stations & Journal Prompts for April.  Happy Hopping! Don't forget to go ALL the way to the end and enter the Rafflecopter! :)
