April Fool's Day Fun!

Try not to judge me, but I LOVE tricking my kids on April Fool's Day.

Bright an early Tuesday morning I will be giving my kiddos this special word search. NONE of the words in the word bank are actually in the word search. (bwahaha!)

I will also be bringing back the Lirpaloof Bird this year. Read all about this elusive creature here at Sunny Day's in Second Grade.

AND, the Brown E's may make an appearance . . .

  2. Fun! (But April Fools' Day is tomorrow...you'd better hurry to school to print the word search in the morning!)

  3. I am also planning on serving my students ''Brown E's", as well as "fruit juice" (cherry jello in cups with straws). We will be doing a mystery picture via powerpoint that will end up as a toilet, complete with flushing sounds, and NOW I will be giving them a word search for morning work…thanks to you:) I just love this zany day, even when students try to prank me, too! It's all in good fun;) Enjoy your day!

  5. I love this! I did it with my kids this morning. I let them work on the word search for about 15 minutes before I told them the truth! They said, I really got them! Ha ha! Great ideas!

  6. I love this activity. I found it a long time ago online somewhere but they called it the "Loof Lirpa" bird. It is always fun to play a fun little trick.

Can I ask what the font on your "The Elusive Lirpaloof Bird" printable is? I want it. It is so adorable!!

    Thanks,

  7. I remember when my 3rd grade teacher served us Brown E's!!! It was so hilarious; we laughed about it for the rest of the year.
    Gotta love kid-humor.

  8. 2nd year doing this prank. This year I wrapped the brown E's individually and made the kids wait until lunch. I have a class that loves to eat!
They were very anxious to get their treat. Lots of laughs happened when they discovered that the E's were actually brown and not so tasteful!
